New business comes to Eden Valley main street

Introducing the Schmitt Insurance Agency

Steve Schmitt learned of our community's need for insurance services through a market survey conducted by Eden Valley's Healthy Communities Partnership, and his response was "Get 'er done".

The Schmitt Insurance Agency opened on Sept. 1, in the Bradshaw Professional Building on State Street in Eden Valley. Through Farmers Insurance Group, the Schmitt agency provides auto, home, life, business, ATV, motorcycle, and farm products. Schmitt is working with John Deere Financial for crop insurance, and plans to expand products and services as the agency grows.

Local residents Brenda Hentges and Pat Benson join Steve as licensed insurance agents trained to identify the appropriate coverage for clients. Tara Donnay provides office support, and together they are dedicated to provide personal and professional service to the community. The Schmitt Insurance Agency is open from 10-6 weekdays and 9-noon on Saturday, and can be reached at (320) 453-7700.

"This is about getting more businesses in town, providing local jobs and strengthening our community," said Schmitt. "We've got a great place to live here, with good schools and people who care about the community. The survey showed us what people want, and this is something I could do in response to that need."

[The agency is also serving as the drop site for the Eden Valley-Watkins edition of the

Tri-County News. News stories, photos, and ads can be dropped off and faxed to the Kimball office. "People I have talked to are concerned about having a local paper, and this is something I can offer to support the success of the Eden Valley-Watkins edition," said Schmitt.]
