September Students of the Month

In order to recognize achievement, outstanding progress, and responsible behavior in our student body, grade-level teams made up of teachers select one Kimball Area High School student in each grade to be recognized as the Student of the Month. The monthly winners are recognized in school, on the school website, and in the Tri-County News. They also receive a Subway gift certificate and Chamber Bucks from the Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce. Special thanks to Luxemburg's Subway and the Kimball Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring this program. The following students are recognized for September 2012:

Grade 7-Mitchell Jansky

Mitchell participates well in all of his classes. His answers in class are well thought out and often very witty. Outside of the classroom and at school events, he is respectful of others and maintains his calm, quiet demeanor.

Grade 8-Kari Schiefelbein

Kari is a hard working student who is diligent in her work and participation in class. Kari is an advocate for herself and her peers that seek help and ask questions. Kari is a team player who always includes her classmates and is open to all ideas to be successful as an individual and as a team player.

Grade 9-Abbey Straley

Abbey Straley has been selected because she exhibits confidence, leadership, and integrity in academics. She is continuously engaged in learning and has worked very hard to advance her own strategies in the classroom. A positive attitude and respectful nature make Abbey an excellent choice for Student of the Month.

Grade 10-Trystan Rode

Trystan is a great kid to have in class. He listens, works hard and is generally a "very nice guy." He offers assistance to both students and staff without hesitation, or without expecting anything in return. He is helpful after school with the football program and is constantly asking to see who he can help and when. Kimball High School is a better place to be now that he has joined us.

Grade 11-Erin Diffley

Erin Diffley, a junior, is September's student of the month. Erin brings many different qualities to the classroom. She is hardworking, conscientious, diligent, and enthusiastic. Erin can find humor in everyday experiences, and brings that humor to classroom discussions. She prides herself in her academics and is confident in her abilities and who she is. Erin is one of only a few who can multitask and do well with all tasks at hand. Students and teachers alike enjoy Erin's presence in the classroom because she always has something positive and useful to contribute. Congratulations to Erin Diffley for being selected for this top honor.

Grade 12-Ashley Angier

Ashley brings a great energy to the classroom as she engages in various topics of study. That engagement was especially evident on the Natural Disasters field trip. Ashley showed her interest in the topic by asking questions and taking the opportunity to teach the class when asked. She shows an incredible maturity about learning that her teachers appreciate. She is passionate about gaining knowledge and actively pursues opportunities to gain information.
