Drug investigation and arrests

At about 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, the Central Minnesota Violent Offender's Task Force (VOTF) conducted a search warrant at the address of 14905 Fiesta Lane, Wakefield Township in Stearns County. The search warrant was based on an ongoing investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine. Tomas Hermosillo, Angelina Ramirez, and three minor children were home at the time of the search warrant.

Investigators recovered about $4,600 cash, one handgun, and about two pounds of suspected methamphetamine. The methamphetamine has a street value of $60,000. Both parties were arrested and taken to the Stearns County Jail and they face possible first-degree controlled substance charges. The three minor children were placed in protective custody with Stearns County Human Services.

Assisting in the investigation was the Cold Spring Police Department, Stearns-Benton SERT team, and the local office of the FBI. Thew Central Minnesota Violent Offender's Task Force (VOTF() is comprised of deputies from Stearns, Benton Todd, and Morrison Counties, along with officers from Sartell, Little Falls, and St. Cloud Police Departments.

Eden Valley Police blotter

During the month of August 2012, the Eden Valley Police had the following calls: 29 miscellaneous, 11 verbal warnings, 7 citations, 8 thefts,

6 public assists, 3 domestics, 3 arrests,

2 assist other department, 2 assist rescue, 2 vandalism, 1 burglary, 1 accident, 1 open door, 1 dog complaint,

1 motorist assist, and 1 alarm; there were a total of 79 calls.

Kimball Police blotter

Fair Haven: In covering Fair Haven during August 2012, the Kimball Police had the following calls: 11 speed citations and 7 warnings, 2 animal complaints, 2 equipment warnings, 2 seatbelt citations, 1 agency assist, 1 business check, 1 court order violation, 1 fire/burning complaint citation,

1 medical; total hours were 60.

Kimball: The following calls were made by Kimball Police in August 2012 in the City of Kimball: 22 equipment warnings, 17 speed citations and 12 warnings, 15 extra patrols, 11 agency assists,

10 business checks, 8 driving complaints, 8 citations for public urination, 7 seatbelt citations and 4 warnings, 7 medicals,

6 minor consumption/possession citations, 6 Driving After Revocation/Suspension/Cancellation, 6 suspicious vehicle/person/activity, 5 citizen contacts,

3 animal complaints, 3 bar checks, 3 civil complaints, 3 equipment citations, 2 curfew violations, 2 driver license warnings and 1 citation, 3 burning complaints and 1 citation, 3 stop sign/light citations and 1 warning, 2 license plate warnings and 1 citation, 2 motorist assists, 2 passing on right citations, 2 warrant/attempted service, 2 window ting citations, 1 accident,

1 domestic, 1 fight complaint, 1 insurance violation, 1 juvenile problem, 1 move over law warning and 1 citation, 1 open container citation, 1 vandalism complaint, 1 welfare check; there were a total of

65 citations/arrests, 80 complaints, and 44 verbal warnings in August.

Watkins Police blotter

In August 2012, The Stearns County Sheriff covering Watkins had the following calls: 15 traffic stops (10 warnings, 5 citations), 5 medicals, 3 child abuse/maltreatment, 3 harassment/stalking, 3 suspicious person/vehicle, 2 domestics, 2 ordinance violations,

2 vehicle unlocks, 1 animal complaint, 1 welfare check, 1 criminal damage to property, 1 custody issue, 1 hit & run,

1 juvenile trouble, 1 lost/found property, 1 noise complaint, 1 person under the influence, 1 sex crime offense,

1 theft, 1 unsafe conditions, for a total of 47 calls.

Wright County Sheriff's Office

Sept. 17, Jason Edward Carson, 32 of St. Cloud, was arrested in Maple Lake Township on the charge of possession of burglary tools.

Sept. 17, Ryan Paul French, 36 of South Haven, was arrested in Buffalo on a Wright County warrant for driving after cancellation inimical to public safety.

Sept. 18, Terry Scott Spinks, 34 of

St. Cloud, was arrested in Stearns County on a Wright County warrant for receiving stolen property.

Sept. 19, Michael James Madison, 22 of Maple Lake, was arrested in Buffalo on a Wright County warrant for criminal sexual conduct.

Sept. 19, Jenna Lea Winter, 29 of Maple Lake, was arrested in Maple Lake on the charge of domestic assault.

Sept. 19, Richard Allen Mitchell, 18 of Clearwater, was charged with fifth-degree gross misdemeanor criminal sexual conduct.

Sept. 20, Matthew Rodney Bell, 26 of Maple Lake, was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault.

Sept. 21, Andrew William Plamann,

22 of Annandale, was arrested in Clearwater Township on the charge of domestic assault.

There were 9 property-damage accidents, 2 personal-injury accidents, and 2 car-deer accidents.

There were 5 arrests for DWI,

5 underage-consumption arrests, and 35 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations issued this week.

Meeker County Sheriff's Office

Sunday, September 23

8:13 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a car/deer accident in the area of CSAH 21 and 695th Avenue in Kingston Township. There were no injuries reported.

8:33 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of mailboxes that had been removed from the post at a residence on 318th Street, Forest City.

2:57 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a dog complaint at a residence on 4th Street North, Watkins. The dog was gone upon the deputy's arrival.

5:05 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to an alarm at the Assembly Of God Church, MN Highway 22, Harvey Township. The deputy found everything to be okay at the church and that it was a false alarm.

Saturday, September 22

7:05 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of theft from a vehicle at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins.

12:34 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on Church Street, Watkins. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.

2:31 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical in Stearns County on Main Street North in Kimball. One individual was transported to the Paynesville Hospital.

6:14 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a stray dog complaint at a residence on 742nd Avenue, Kingston Township. The deputy made contact with the resident who will take care of the black lab puppy until the owner is found.

8:55 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a cellular 9-1-1 call reference an animal complaint from a residence on 365th Street, Forest Prairie Township. Information was received from the owner of stray cattle and that they will be rounded up shortly.

9:26 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to an animal complaint in the area of 667th Avenue, Forest Prairie Township. Deputies made contact with the owners of the stray cattle who were in the process of corralling the animals.

Friday, September 21

12:17 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance for

Stearns County, to a medical on Magnus Johnson Street, Kimball. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.

12:45 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a driving complaint west bound on MN Highway 55 in the area of CSAH 2, Watkins. The information was passed on to the Minnesota State Patrol.

7:22 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Eden Valley Rescue and Watkins Ambulance for a medical at a residence on 370th Street, Manannah Township. One individual was transported to St Cloud Hospital.

Thursday, September 20

6:07 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received information of suspicious activity at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins.

7:32 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of trespassing at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins. An individual was advised of their options.

11:56 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received information on a civil matter at a residence on MN Highway 22, Manannah Township. An individual was advised of their options.

Wednesday, September 19

9:10 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of theft from a garage at a residence on 657th Avenue, Forest Prairie Township.

10:06 a.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted with a K9 locker search at the ACGC High School, MN Highway 4, Grove City.

2:41 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a dirt bike complaint on 362nd Street, Forest Prairie Township. A warning was given to the driver.

7:36 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a car/deer accident on County State Aid Highway 2 near 330th Street, Watkins. There were no injuries and the deputy put the deer down. A short time later the deputy returned to the scene and issued a deer possession tag.

Tuesday, September 18

8:24 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Eden Valley Rescue to a medical at a residence on Crescent View Road, Eden Lake Township, Stearns County. One individual was transported to the Paynesville Hospital by Paynesville Ambulance.

8:58 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to an animal complaint at a residence on 645th Avenue, Forest City Township. All parties were advised of their options.

10:44 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a request to check the welfare of an individual at a residence on 742nd Avenue, Kingston Township. Contact was made with the individual and arrangements made for their care.

3:58 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Eden Valley Rescue and Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on State Street North, Eden Valley. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.

9:11 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residence on 4th Street North in Watkins. Upon arrival of the deputies everything was found to be okay.

Monday, September 17

12:03 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of suspicious activity at a residence on CSAH 34, Forest Prairie Township.

6:04 a.m. the Sheriff's Office checked on suspicious activity on CSAH 2, Forest City Township. The deputy found everything was okay.

7:50 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to and dispatched the Grove City Fire Department for a car fire at the ACGC School parking lot. The vehicle was a total loss and report was taken. No other property was damaged.

11:52 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a theft report at a residence on County State Aid Highway 21, Kingston Township. The deputy took a report.

3:22 p.m. a Meeker County Deputy came upon a calf out on County State Aid Highway 34, Forest City Township. The deputy was able to herd the calf back in the fence and the owners were notified.

4:50 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a driving complaint on County State Aid Highway 2 by Clear Lake, Forest Prairie Township. The deputy made contact with the driver and was given a warning.

7:49 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to an animal complaint on CSAH 34, Forest Prairie Township. Upon arrival of the deputy the cows were gone.

9:04 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a request for a welfare check at a residence on 4th Street North, Watkins. Upon arrival of the deputy everything was found to be fine.

9:45 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a request to assist the public at a residence on 380th Street, Forest Prairie Township. Upon arrival of the deputy the individual was advised of their options.
