The American Red Cross Bloodmobile was in Kimball Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the Kimball Area High School cafetorium.
Our goal was 50 units of blood. We actually collected 61 units. There were 55 presenters with one being deferred. We had seven people giving double red cells resulting in a total of 61.
We had a new first-time donor. Congratulations to Jenna Maus. There were others to congratulate for reaching two gallons: Barry Hanson, Ron Saukkola, Ben Spies. Those who have donated three gallons are Jayne Lochen; five gallons-Bonnie Zutz; and eight gallons-Bonnie Gannon.
Double red cell donors were Kelly Donabauer, Bonnie Gannon, Wayne Hendrickson, Michael Hunt, Allan Kuechle, Ron Saukkola, and a seventh person, uncertain of name, but we thank you!
Thank you to all the volunteers who worked hard making phone calls for appointments, the registration desk and canteen.
Thank you to Cathy at Community Education, and the janitors for the extra work they did to help.
Thank you to the members of the American Legion Auxiliary for purchasing, preparing and serving supper to the Bloodmobile staff. Thank you for the salads and desserts that were made, also. The Tri-County News is to be thanked again for the great coverage of the Bloodmobile.
The next Bloodmobile in Kimball is set for Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, from 1 to 7 p.m.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make our goal in Kimball this summer. There is always a shortage of blood this time of the year.
Hope to see many of you in
