Eagle Boosters give more than $16,000 to EV-W arts, athletic and academic programs
EV-W arts, athletic and academic programs were the recipients of more than $16,000 in donations from the Eagle Booster Club during the past year.
Leading the way was the drama department which received $3,292 including $625 for its budget, $1,500 for the spring musical and $1,162 for equipment. The Boosters also made large donations of $2,000 to the choir for new robes, $2,000 to the softball association for lights at the field, and
$2,500 to the athletic/activities budget to help hire extra coaches.
Other major recipients included $1,000 for each for scholarships, DECA, Respect Retreat, and girls' softball to help defray the cost of the state tournament. The list goes on to include $750 for track equipment, $600 for gymnastics,
$615 for the elementary book club, plus numerous smaller donations.
Members may opt to make only financial contributions, however, if you would like to lend a helping hand, being a Eagle Booster is not a big-time commitment. In addition to the membership fees, the group, which meets about four times a year, operates a brat/hotdog stand at home football games and organizes the Eagle Wear clothing sales.
Businesses and individuals can join at various levels ranging from the $10 to the $500, and above Eagle All-Star level. Other levels include: $25 Silver, $50 navy, $100 Eagle and $250 Eagle Patron. Members' names and contributions are recognized at various times throughout the year on athletic event programs. Certificates to display in your business are also available upon request.
The Eagle Boosters is launching its annual fund drive. If you're interested in joining this organization or making a donation, send your check to Eagle Boosters, c/o Barb Hagemeier, 61244 Minnesota Highway 55, Eden Valley, MN 55329. Members are welcome to join at any time, but memberships received prior to Oct. 1, will be included in the athletic programs at home events.
