Rollover accident; local crime blotters



Rollover accident in Cosmos Twp.

Friday, July 27, at 7:58 a.m., the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Cosmos Fire Department, and a Department of Transportation Hazmat team responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident with no injuries on MN Highway 4, near the intersection of County State Aid Highway 7, in Cosmos Township. A caller reported that the semi-truck and trailer had hazardous material placards posted on the trailer, and had rolled over on its side in the west ditch. The semi was driven by Joseph Curcio Jr., age 63, of Janesville Wis., and owned by Silver Arrow Express of Rockford Ill. Upon law enforcement's arrival, it was learned that the semi was carrying 55-gallon barrels containing materials marked hazardous and corrosive, all non-combustible, and some were leaking inside the trailer. The Department of Public Safety MN Duty Officer was notified, and the MN State Patrol was still at the scene and investigating this crash at the time it was reported to the Tri-County News Friday night.

Wright County Sheriff's Office

July 23, Benjamin Patrick Knowles, 32 of Maple Lake, was arrested in Maple Lake on the charges of interference with a 911 call and domestic assault.

July 24, Eric John Maurus, 30 of Howard Lake ,was arrested in Stearns County on Wright County warrants for domestic assault and fifth-degree assault.

July 27, Eric Allen Parks, 24 of Annandale, was arrested in Corrina Township on the charge of third-degree DWI.

There were 10 property-damage accidents, 2 personal-injury accidents, 4 hit-and-run accidents, and

1 car-deer accident.

There were 15 arrests for DWI,

5 underage-consumption arrests, and 75 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations issued this week.

Sunday, July 29

4:58 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a request to check the welfare of an individual at a residence on County State Aid Highway 30, Manannah Township. Eden Valley Rescue and Watkins Ambulance were also dispatched to the residence for a possible medical. The deputy filed a report and one individual was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital.

10:45 a.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted an individual with a civil matter at a residence on Stearns Avenue North, Watkins.

10:48 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of theft from a residence on Western Avenue North, Watkins.

11:27 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical in Stearns County on Linden Avenue East, Kimball. Prior to arriving Stearns County cancelled Watkins Ambulance.

12:20 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a DOA at a residence on Maple Lane, Grove City. The Coroner was also contacted.

6:08 p.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted with a possible theft at Jack's Standard, Service Road North, Watkins.

6:21 p.m. the Sheriff's Office advised an individual with a family dispute at a residence on Friedman Street, Eden Valley.

Saturday, July 28

12:16 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a noise complaint at an address on Meeker Avenue North, Watkins. Upon arrival three citations for minor consumption were issued.

9:29 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to and paged out the Watkins Ambulance for a medical on Church Street, Watkins. One person was taken to St. Cloud Hospital.

11:45 p.m. the Sheriff's Office observed a suspicious activity in the area of County State Aid Highway 30 and 574th Avenue, Manannah Township. The deputy made contact with two individuals and found all to be okay.

Friday, July 27

2:29 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to an alarm at a residence on 335th Street, Kingston Township. The deputy checked the residence and everything is secure.

1:44 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of unsafe conditions on MN Highway 15, Kingston Township. The information was also relayed to the MN State Patrol.

2:09 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting unsafe conditions on MN Highway 15, Kingston Township. The State Patrol was notified and they also advised that MNDOT is aware of the problem and they have people en route to take care of the problem.

3:52 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 cellular call reporting an ATV accident with injuries on South Highway 22, Greenleaf Township. Gold Cross Ambulance and Litchfield Rescue were paged out and Life Link was launched and landed on scene. The party was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.

6:39 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of theft from a residence on 742nd Avenue, Kingston Township.

Thursday, July 26

1:27 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of harassment at a residence on 675th Avenue, Forest City Township. The deputy spoke to the individual and advised them of their options.

4:16 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of harassment at a residence on 675th Avenue, Forest City Township. Upon arrival of the deputy the individual was advised of their options.

6:59 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a domestic situation at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins. The deputy mediated the situation.

8:27 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Central Avenue South, Watkins. The deputy located the vehicle and all was fine.

Wednesday, July 25

12:02 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to and dispatched Watkins Ambulance and Kimball Rescue to a medical at a residence on 362nd Street, North Kingston Township. One individual was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital.

3:29 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a driving complaint westbound on County State Aid Highway 27, Kingston Township. Upon arrival of the deputy the driver was advised of the complaint.

7:58 p.m. the Sheriff's Office arrested Joel Robert Inselman, age 30, of Kimball. The individual was arrested at a residence on MN Highway 24, Kimball on a Writ of Attachment for Contempt of Court.

Tuesday, July 24

10:21 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a property damage accident at the intersection of Central Avenue and 2nd Street, Watkins.

2:50 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Eden Valley Rescue and Watkins Ambulance to a medical at the Valley Inn, Eden Valley. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.

6:20 p.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted the St. Cloud Police Department in making contact with an individual at a residence on MN Hwy. 24, North Kingston Township.

7:57 p.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted the public at a residence on Cedar Avenue South, Watkins. An individual was advised of their options.

Monday, July 23

3:52 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a commercial burglary alarm at Mies Outland Incorporated, MN Highway 55, Watkins. The deputy checked the property and found all to be okay.

6:21 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a two-vehicle property damage accident at the intersection of Central Avenue South and 4th Street, Watkins.

11:27 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of an assault at an address on Luella Street, Watkins.

2:17 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check on a party at an address on Luella Street, Watkins. A short time later Watkins Ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one individual was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital.

4:31 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of theft from DC Welding on 330th Street, Kingston Township.
