Local government seats will be open to election

Filings will be open July 31-

Aug. 14 open for city council seats and mayor in Eden Valley, Kimball and Watkins.

In Eden Valley, council seats currently held by Peggy Bethel and Eric Reetz will be up for election for four-year terms, as will the position of mayor currently held by Pete Korman, which is a two-year term.

Two council seats currently held by Paula Capes and Eric Loewan and the mayor seat held by Tammy Konz are up for re-election in Kimball. All are four-year terms.

In Watkins, the mayor's seat, currently held by Jim Loch, is up for re-election; it is a two-year term. Also open are two, four-year council seats currently held by Tootz Tschumperlin and Jerry Hesse.

School board seats in both Kimball and Eden Valley-Watkins districts are open to filing. So are positions on local township boards.
