Kimball 12U fast-pitch softball was represented very well by two teams at the "Own the Zone" tournament in Eden Valley this past Sunday. The "Own the Zone" tournament featured a double-elimination format with 10 teams from Willmar, Rocori, Annandale, Kimball, Baxter, Eden Valley-Watkins, and Alexandria. Both teams faced the strongest pitching that they have seen so far this year, and responded very well by finishing with medals for third-and fourth-place finishes. Our Kimball teams were both on the winning trail until they faced the first-place finisher Annandale. The Annandale team sent both teams to the elimination bracket with two hard-fought wins over our very determined Kimball girls. The second-place finisher, Rocori Red then ended the day for our girls by beating both teams with one-point victories in the elimination part of the bracket. The 12U girls have been working very hard this year and it showed with their strong performance and the good sportsmanship that they had on and off of the fields. Keep up the good work, and good luck in the upcoming state tournament qualifier in Hutchinson!
