Fans of comedy, please join us this Saturday or Sunday for one of the funniest shows KCP has ever done, "The Rules of Comedy" by Peter Bloedel. KCP is trying something new with this hilarious farce done in a one-act format. That means that the show will be roughly an hour's worth of non-stop, madcap action that the whole family will love. There will be no long intermission, but plenty of free popcorn will be handed out prior to the show to add to the festive atmosphere. What a great way to get out of the heat and try something different this weekend.
This boisterous comedy showcases the talents of teens from Kimball, Watkins and surrounding areas. It gives the audience an unforgettable lesson in the infallibility of the rules of comedy when they are uproariously applied to the great William Shakespeare tragedy, Hamlet. Adults will love the clever and funny plot, while kids will delight over the slapstick antics of the talented and experienced cast. It's truly a wonderful farce that is appropriate to comedy lovers of all ages.
This show will also mark the debut of much-needed new sound equipment for the Kimball H.S. Cafetorium provided by cooperative funding from Kimball Area Schools, Kimball Community Playhouse and grant resources from Kimball Community Education. Bring your whole family because there won't be a bad seat in the house, although you may fall out of it laughing.
Show times will be 7 p.m. Saturday, July 14, and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15, in the Kimball H.S.Cafetorium. Tickets are available at the door and are $8 for adults and students, and free for preschoolers. No ticket pre-sales available. Production T-shirts will be available for $5.
