The story of Swedish immigrants in this area will be highlighted by Ronette Bergstrom Doering's presentation Thursday, July 12. The 7 p.m. program at the Dassel History Center is entitled "Swedes in the New Land" and will feature music, art and history.
Orville Peterson will provide music on his old Swedish saw, and Julie Lindquist will accompany a Swedish "sing-a long."
Art of Mamie Anderson Falk will be displayed, along with needle-
work, bobbin lace, tatting, and clothing handmade by Swedish immigrants and their descendants.
Readings from an early Swede Grove settler will be selected from a personal family diary which began in 1857.
There is no admission charge.
