Natalie Niewind of Eden Valley died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at her home. She was 86.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley with Rev. Virgil Braun officiating. Friends and family may call from 4-8:30 p.m. Thursday, and 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Eden Valley. Assumption Christian Women will pray the rosary at 5:30 p.m., followed by parish prayers at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, and Catholic United Financial will pray the rosary at 10 a.m. Friday, at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Natalie L. Niewind was born July 22, 1925, in rural Eden Valley to Alex and Katherine (Rademacher) Fink. She worked in St. Cloud during World War II building airplanes. She married Bernard Niewind May 27, 1946, at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley. Natalie was a homemaker and lived in the Eden Valley area her entire life. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church where she was involved in the Christian Women and Catholic Aid. She was a member of the Choralaires for 25 years. Natalie enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards and piano, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Natalie was preceded in death by her parents; sister Elvira DeMorett; and brothers Leopold, Romaine, and Kenneth Fink.
She is survived by her husband Bernard of Eden Valley; daughters Ann (and fiancé Jerry Abbott) Howieson of Hackensack, Nancy (and Al) Rassier of Sartell, and Jennifer (and Paul) Vigliaturo of Bloomington; brothers Anthony Fink of Overland Park Kan., John Fink of Brookings, S.D., and Richard Fink of Edina; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Rice Memorial Hospice.
