Dorothy Adolph of South Haven died Monday, May 14, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 85.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at St. Anne"s Catholic Church of Kimball with Fr. Tom Olson officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, and 9-10 a.m. Thursday, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball. There will be a prayer service at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow the funeral at St. Anne's Cemetery.
Dorothy Mary Adolph was born July 21, 1926, at Litchfield to Baultis and Eleanore (Schoen) Ackerman. She graduated from Kimball High School with the class of 1943. June 26, 1948, she was united in marriage to Marvin J. Adolph in Watkins. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, and the Kimball American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her family, and the Minnesota Twins, and was the best mom ever.
Dorothy was preceded in death by an infant son, son Charles; brother Baultis Ackerman; and sisters Laura Schloeder, Bernice Kalinowski, and Barbara Sikkila.
She is survived by her husband Marvin; children and their spouses Julie (and Michael) Galloway of Phillips Wis., Vikki (and Tim) Donnay of Outing, Sharon (and Jeff) Reitmeier of Cold Spring, Joe (and Benita) Adolph of Watkins; sister Janice (and Claude) Mohs of South St. Paul; brother Michael (and Mary) Ackerman of Cokato; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The pallbearers will be Blaine Adolph, Timmy and Phillip Donnay, Heather Madden, Jacob and Jeremy Reitmeier. The music for the service will be provided by St. Anne's Choir and Frosty Schiefelbein, organist.
