Hosch and Hansen honor service of Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor Jerry Bechtold of Stearns County celebrating 55 years of service

In recognition of the 55 years of service provided by Jerry Bechtold as the Stearns County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor, State Representative Larry Hosch and State Representative Rick Hansen presented a House resolution providing May 3 as "Jerry Bechtold Day" at the Capitol.

"Jerry has been an extraordinary Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor for the communities of Stearns County," said Rep. Hosch. "Having given half a century to this work, it's clear that he is incredibly passionate about conserving our national resources for generations to come."

Bechtold was elected to serve as the Stearns County Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor back on May 6, 1957. In addition to celebrating "Jerry Bechtold Day" at the Capitol, the Supervisor celebrated his 83rd birthday.

"I have had the great privilege of working with Jerry over the years, and he has always been an incredible advocate for conserving our soil and water resources," said Rep. Hansen (DFLÐSouth

St. Paul). "Our state is better off today because of his great work."
