In order to recognize achievement, outstanding progress, and responsible behavior in our student body, grade-level teams made up of teachers select one Kimball Area High School student in each grade to be recognized as the Student of the Month. The monthly winners are recognized in school, on the school website, and in the Tri-County News. They also receive a Subway gift certificate and Chamber Bucks from the Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce. Special thanks to Luxemburg's Subway and the Kimball Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring this program. The following students are recognized for January 2012:
Grade 7 Stephanie Hurrle
Stephanie is a mature young woman who is always eager to answer questions and is thorough with her answers. She has a positive attitude and quietly leads by example. Stephanie is respectful of everyone around her and is willing to help others.
Grade 8 Krista Hendrickson
Krista is a hard-working student. Whatever is being done in class, Krista is focused and diligently studying. Krista is also a great self-advocate. She makes sure to ask any questions she has if something is unclear. On top of all of that, she is always smiling!
Grade 9 Nicole Vossen
Nicole has shown an exceptional work ethic, unique ability to problem solve, and an excellent sense of respectfulness. She has proven that hard work, patience, and persistence pays off academically. Nicole is remarkable in her task completion and works well in all types of cooperative learning situations. As ninth-grade teachers, we are very proud to recognize Nicole Vossen for this month.
Grade 10 Chris Reinert
Chris is working independently and making huge gains as a member of the sophomore class. He takes his academics very seriously. Teachers see him as polite and an all-around asset to the classroom. The staff looks forward to his continued track toward success in the future.
Grade 11 Alissa Jones
Alissa Jones has been nominated as January's Junior Student of the Month. Alissa is known for her consistency in the classroom. She completes quality work and continues to put forth a solid effort. She never quits. Her insights in class discussion are thoughtful and even thought-provoking at times. Alissa has a warm and fun personality that makes her super likable to her classmates and her teachers. Congratulations, Alissa, on a job well done!
Grade 12 Erin Dingman
Erin is the Triple A Award winner for District 20. It is a well-deserved award. Erin is driven academically, musically, and athletically. In addition to her success in these areas, Erin also brings other key qualities to Kimball Area High School. Erin is always willing to do what she is asked, and people know she will get things done. She is respectful and understands the power that exists in being subtle when wanting to make a point or employ a way of thinking. Erin's school spirit is Cub to the core. We love what she brings to our school and congratulate her on the Triple A recognition.
