Car struck Kimball school bus Tuesday morning
Tuesday morning, Feb. 14, Kimball school bus number 5, driven by Jack Wessling, was headed west on County Road 44 had stopped to turn left onto Hidden Lane to pick up students. A Chevy Malibu, driven by 17-year-old Rachael Arnold who was on her way to school in Kimball, struck the back of the bus and became wedged under the bumper.
The 22 students who were on the bus were taken to school on another bus. There were no injuries.
Stearns County Sheriff, Kimball Police, and Kimball Fire Department were all called to the scene.
Visibility was poor because of the fog. All drivers are urged to use caution in winter driving, and especially during the hours when school buses may be present.
Young man dies in farm accident
At 3:57 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office was called to an address in Millwood Township for a farm accident in which 18-year-old Craig Roger Weichmann of rural Freeport was found pinned and dead inside a silo.
Weichmann's body was taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
Wright County Sheriff's Office
Feb. 9, Luverne Ernest Tulo-wetzke, 57 of Annandale, was arrested in Annandale for drive after cancellation inimical to public safety.
Feb. 12, James John Skuza, 30 of Annandale, was arrested in Annandale for 3rd degree DWI.
Feb. 12, Graydon Scott Adickes, 46 of Annandale, was arrested in Annandale on a Wright County warrant for issuance of worthless check.
There were 10 property-damage accidents, 3 personal-injury accidents, and 9 car-deer accidents.
There were 8 arrests for DWI,
5 underage-consumption arrests, and 104 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations issued this week.
Kimball Police Department
There were a total of 147 interactions by the Kimball Police Department's patrolling of Kimball during January 2012: 23 arrests or citations, 113 complaints, and 11 warnings.

Sunday, Feb. 12
11:20 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a residential alarm on 746th Avenue, South Haven. A deputy checked the area and found everything to be secure.
7:03 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received information regarding unsafe conditions on MN Highway 15, Kingston. The information was forwarded to the MN State Patrol.
8:44 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a vehicle hit-and-run accident at a residence on Stearns Avenue North, Watkins.
11:10 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance, per the request of Stearns County Sheriff Office, for a medical at a residence on Hidden Lane, Fairhaven Township. Watkins Ambulance requested Mutual Aid and Stearns County Sheriff Office was notified.
Saturday, Feb. 11
9:32 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance for a lift assist at a residence on Luella St., Watkins.
11:49 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a dog complaint that occurred in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins. A deputy located the dog and brought the German Shepard to the pound.
1:45 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report on a missing person from a residence at the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins. The individual was located later.
7:34 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to and dispatched the Watkins Ambulance, Watkins Rescue and Watkins Fire to a personal injury accident on MN Hwy 55 at 647th Avenue. Two individuals were transported to the St. Cloud Hospital. State Patrol wrote the accident.
Friday, Feb. 10
5:45 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on Hazel Avenue East, Kimball. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.
8:20 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on 657th Avenue, Watkins. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.
9:52 a.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted the public at a residence on 330th Street, Kimball. An individual was advised of their options.
2:28 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on Luella Street, Watkins. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.
Thursday, Feb. 9
8:19 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to suspicious activity at a residence on 3rd Street South, Watkins. The deputy mediated the situation for the evening.
Wednesday, Feb. 8
3:57 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a business on 93rd Avenue, Kimball. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.
Tuesday, Feb. 7
8:27 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance and Eden Valley Rescue for a medical at a residence on Coleman Avenue East, Eden Valley. A short time later Gold Cross Ambulance was dispatched for assistance. One individual was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital.
2:46 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to an address on Meeker Avenue North, Watkins and arrested, Anthony Lucas Norton, age 37, St Cloud, on a Stearns County warrant.
3:06 p.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted Stearns County with the arrest of an 18-year-old man at an address on Brooks Street North, Eden Valley, who was transferred into Stearns County custody and transported to the Stearns County Jail.
8:57 p.m. Joshua James Hiepler, age 18, St. Martin was arrested at a residence in Stearns County on a Meeker County warrant for underage drinking. He was transported to the Meeker County Jail.
Monday, Feb. 6
9:10 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a horse running loose on 340th Street, Watkins. The deputy made contact with the owner who was going to round up the horse.
9:57 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a possible sex crime/offense at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins.
3:10 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to assist the Eden Valley Police and the MN State Patrol with a school bus/car accident at the intersection of Stearns Avenue West and MN Highway 22, Eden valley. The school bus did not have any students on board and no one was injured. There was minor property damage to the bus. MN State Patrol wrote the report.
5:28 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to and contacted the MN State Patrol for a car accident on MN Highway 15 at 163rd Street. The State Patrol wrote the report.
11:01 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a dog complaint at a residence on 4th Street South, Watkins. Upon arrival of the deputy an adult male black lab with a red collar was transported to the dog pound.
