By Scott Schafer, coach

The JV boys' basketball team defeated St, John's Prep last Monday night, Jan. 9, 47-38 in non-conference action. All nine Cub players scored in the game. Junior Conner Wittenberg led the charge with 12 points. Sophomore Ben Serbus and freshman Joey Von"Nacho"Wahlde added nine and eight points respectively. The Cubs played very well defensively as they forced numerous turnovers and made it difficult for the Johnnies to get open shots. In Thursday night's action, Jan. 12, the Cubs were defeated by the Holdingford Huskers, 52-36. The Cubs trailed by eight at halftime, but had a difficult time taking care of the ball in the second half. Turnovers, along with a poor defensive effort buried the Cubs early in the second half. Wittenberg led Kimball with 14 points, and VonWahlde chipped in 11. The Cubs host B-B-E Tuesday, Jan. 17, followed by the Pierz Pioneers Friday, Jan. 20.
