Knowledge Bowl in Eden Valley

EV-W places second

EV-W's varsity and junior varsity Knowledge Bowl teams both finished in second place in their divisions in the first Central Minnesota league meet of the year at Kimball Jan. 10.

Melrose came from behind in the final round to edge EV-W Varsity I 89-88.

Kimball Varsity I was third with 85 points. Members of EV-W Varsity I team included: Travis Eisenbacher, Molly Hesse, Patrick Latcham, Jen Notch and Eli Salo.

In the Junior Varsity Division, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted finished first with 68 points followed by EV-W with 64 points. Litchfield was third with 62 points. Members of the EV-W Junior Varsity team were: Cody Asfeld, Brandon Faber, Connor Flaschenreim, Austin Gunderson and Erin Salo.

EV-W plays host to 62-team KB meet

Sixty-two teams representing 20 school districts from throughout Central Minnesota participated in the annual EV-W Knowledge Bowl Invitational Saturday, Jan. 14, in Eden Valley.

St. John's Prep 1 took home honors in the varsity division with a score of 117. Rounding out the medal winners were: Buffalo 1 with 104, Rocori 1 with 102.5, Tech 1 with 98.5 and Albany 1 with 98.5.

St. John's Prep A won the Junior Varsity Division with 86.5 points. Second place went to Buffalo A followed by St. John's Prep C, St. John's Prep B and EV-W A.
