From 1-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, there will beÊa Red Cross Blood Drive at the Watkins Village Hall. Every two seconds someone receives a unit of blood. The need is constant. It is our mission to meet this need. During this holiday season, consider giving this gift of life.
To be a donor, individuals must be 17 or older (16 with a signed parental consent form), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in general good health. Donors may give once every 56 days, or double red donors after 112 days. A blood donor card or driver's license, or two other forms of identification are needed at check-in.
If you are a previous donor and are eligible to donate, you will be contacted, but new donors are always needed. Ask a friend to come with. To make an appointment, call Theresia at (320) 764-7251, Betty at (320) 764-9163, call (800) 448-3543, or visit redcrossblood.org (this site contains a wealth of information and the parental consent form for 16-year olds). Appointments help us to schedule donors more evenly and keep the "wait time" to a minimum. Walk-ins are always welcome if you cannot schedule a specific time.
Thank you for considering giving blood and hope to see you on Dec. 14.
