Yes, the Cubs C-team were able to pull out a win against the Holdingford Huskers Thursday night, Sept. 29, and improved considerably. In set one, the Cubs made it a close one only to lose by a score of 22-25, but came back in set two. The game went back and forth for each team and neither one seemed to want to pull away, however, the Cubs knew they needed to win to go after a match victory, and they did, and won 25-23. Phew! That brought the match to a third set which only goes to 15. The Cubs started the set flat and got behind 5-1 and it looked like we wouldn't be able to come back. Serving, however, was the name of the game and the Cubs stepped up and won 15-12. We are now 2-2 in the CMC and 3-5 overall. Our next competition is this Saturday, Oct. 1, for a tournament at Maple Lake and then next week at home Monday, Oct. 3, against ACGC, and Thursday, Oct. 6, at EV-W for another conference match. Go Cubs!
