Lenous Dammann of Kimball died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at Heritage House of Kimball. He was 84.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fair Haven with Rev. Timothy Nerud officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will follow the funeral at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery.
Lenous Lawrence Dammann was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Fair Haven Township, Stearns County to Lawrence and Elizabeth 'Lizzie' (Gutknecht) Dammann He served during World War II as a member of the United States Army. Lenous married Alice J. Mackereth May 3, 1952, in Kimball. She died March 26, 1993. He farmed his entire working lifetime in Fair Haven Township where he served many years on the Township Board. He was a charter member of the Fair Haven Lions Club, and was a member of the Wat-Kim-Valley VFW Post 5460. Lenous enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, and in recent years, vacation trips with neighbors.
Lenous was preceded in death by his wife; son Claude; and brother-in-law Orville Mielke.
He is survived by sons John of Clearwater, Paul (and Carol) of Clearwater, Dan (and Becky) of Kimball; sisters Mabel Rohling of St. Cloud, Dorothy Mielke of Sauk Rapids, Frances (and Elmer) Kuseske of Buffalo; seven grandchildren Scott (and Jeannette), Steve, Robert, Ryan, McKenzie, Faith, and Seth.
The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
