Scott Holte joined the Rural Stearns Faith in Action team Saturday, Aug. 6, as an AmeriCorps VISTA. Holte comes to Faith in Action with an M.S. in Mass Communication and a B.S. in Biblical Studies. He has been gaining experience in media and marketing over the last six years, and is excited to use his experience to support the mission of Rural Stearns Faith in Action: to facilitate the caring of people in rural communities throughout Stearns County.
"I feel like Rural Stearns Faith in Action is going to be a good fit for me," Holte said. "I am passionate about Faith in Action's neighbors helping neighbors philosophy; we are able to connect willing community members with people who don't know who to call for help."
Holte will be building the capacity of Rural Stearns Faith in Action by increasing the volunteer base, by developing a volunteer mentor program, by raising awareness of Faith in Action among people in need of services, and by working to develop a mutually beneficial relationship with Catholic Charities Meals on Wheels and Senior Dining.
