Watch history unfold before your very eyes. Hop on a motorcoach and take an historical road trip to visit the sites named in local author and state legislator Dean Urdahl's book, "Uprising." Dean will guide and narrate the tour as you see the very ground where action took place in 1862.
The tour is scheduled on the 149th anniversary of the Battle of Fort Ridgley, one of the sites to be visited. Other stops on the tour will include Ness Church, Acton Battlefield site, Lower Sioux Agency and Birch Coulee Battlefield site. A lunch stop is planned at the Redwood Falls Pizza Ranch, at your own expense.
Tour fee of $34 includes deluxe motorcoach transportation, admissions and narrative. This would make a great family trip! Contact Dassel-Cokato Community Education at (320) 286-4120 with questions or to register.
Prior to this bus trip you are invited to a special "Uprising" presentation by Dean Urdahl at the Dassel History Center and Ergot Museum at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. That event is free and open to the public. No preregistration is needed.
