The "Kimball Blue" age 10 and under softball team wrapped up their season after quite a season of improvement. The girls focused on learning the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing, and running the bases. The team struggled for victories early on in league play, as they lost the first six games, but the improvement they displayed started to really show during the last half of the season. The team finished the regular season by defeating Rockford, playing Litchfield to a tie, and finishing with a win against Annandale. In the season-ending league tournament, the team lost a close game 5-4 in extra innnings to Maple Lake in the Consolation Championship game. The Cubs finished 2-2 in the tournament showing they were good enough to play in the medal round game. Another highlight of the season was a tournament in Ramsey where both Kimball 10U softball teams combined and played very well, coming home with first-place medals in the two-day tournament. Overall, it was a great season of learning the game of softball, both for the players and coaches. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped out this season. Go Cubs!
