Fairhaven ATV accident

Mark Elliott, age 49, of South Haven was driving a 1999 Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV on 140th Street in Fairhaven Township Saturday, Aug. 6, when the ATV went partially into the ditch. This caused the driver to lose control. A juvenile passenger fell off and sustained minor injuries. The ATV rolled over onto Elliot causing non-life threatening injuries.

The accident happened at about 2:20 p.m. Stearns County Sheriff's Department, with South Haven Rescue and Watkins Ambulance responded. Elliot was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by Watkins Ambulance for treatment.

Farm accident in Holding T'ship

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office was dispatched Tuesday, Aug. 2, at about 2:15 p.m., with Holdingford Rescue and Gold Cross Ambulance, to 42716 CR 3 in Holding Township for a farm accident. Glen Leander Trout, age 27, of Rice, was underneath a large mower deck working on the blades when the mower fell off the jack, pinning his head beneath it. Traut was able to get to his cell phone and call 911. Trout was just about to pass out when family members saw the Sheriff's squad car pull into the yard and ran to check on him. The mower was pulled off his head, and he was treated at the scene by Holdingford Rescue. He was later taken to the

St. Cloud Hospital ER by Gold Cross Ambulance.

Forfeited car, motorcycle to be sold

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office currently has for sale a car and motorcycle that were seized through the DWI forfeiture process. The first item is a 1986 Buick Grand National with about 138,000 miles. The second item is a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle, CVO

Ultra Classic, with 400 miles. Both sales are being conducted on e-Bay. A link to the auction sites can be found under the Stearns County homepage-Recent News at www.co.stearns.mn.us. The sale will run for 10 days from midnight Sunday, Aug. 7.

Wright County Sheriff's Office

On Aug. 6, Rhonda Glynn Johnson, 64, of Maple Lake was arrested in Maple Lake Township on the charge of domestic assault.

There were 13 Property Damage Accidents, 5 Personal Injury Accidents, 2 Hit and Run Accidents and 1 Car Deer Accident.

There were 14 arrests for DWI, 13 Underage Consumption arrests, and 96 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations issued this week.

Monday, Aug. 8

3:16 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance for a medical on Luella Street, Watkins. One individual was transported to St Cloud Hospital.

Sunday, Aug. 7

12:06 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a fight at a business on State Street North, Eden Valley. Upon arrival of the deputy all individuals had left the business.

2:46 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a fireworks complaint on 355th Street, Kimball. The deputy spoke to the residents and issued a warning.

3:42 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a fight on Meeker Avenue South, Watkins. The deputy spoke to a group and the suspects left the area on foot. The deputy checked and the individuals were no longer in the area.

1:17 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to report of an order for protection violation on Brooks

Street, Eden Valley. A deputy arrested Michael Allen Nething, age 26, of Litchfield, for the protection violation.

7:33 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of suspicious activity occurring on School Avenue South, Watkins.

Saturday, Aug. 6

8:28 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a hit and run accident on Central Avenue, Watkins.

8:32 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of Texas longhorn cattle on 260th Street, Grove City. The cattle were gone upon the arrival of the deputy.

12:35 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to an animal complaint occurring on Tri-County Road, Paynesville. A deputy searched the area and the cow was gone.

2:23 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance, per Stearns County Sheriff's Office, for an ATV accident on 140th Street, South Haven. Watkins Ambulance transported one individual to St. Cloud Hospital. (See full story above.)

3:39 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a watercraft complaint on Lake Betsy, Kimball. The individual was located and warned.

6:28 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a driving complaint on MN Highway 55 and 617th Avenue, Eden Valley. The information was passed on to Stearns County Sheriff's Office and the MN State Patrol.

7:18 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched spotters for the Grove City, Litchfield, Watkins and Eden Valley area for a Thunderstorm Warning.

9:39 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of unsafe road conditions on 340th Street and 675th Avenue, Watkins. The Meeker County Highway Department was contacted and barricaded the road.

10:26 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a disturbance at the Meeker County Fair Grounds. Milton P Shoutz, age 49, of Litchfield, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

11:22 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of unsafe road conditions on 560th Avenue and 290th Street, Grove City. The Meeker County Highway Department was contacted and the road was barricaded.

Friday, Aug. 5

8:01 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on 83rd Avenue, Kimball. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.

11:35 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to and dispatched Litchfield Rescue and Gold Cross Ambulance to a medical at the Meeker County Fairgrounds, Litchfield. The individual was treated at the scene.

11:50 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of child maltreatment at a residence on Meeker Avenue East, Eden Valley.

5:20 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a burglary that occurred at a residence on 335th Street, South Haven.

6:35 p.m. a Sheriff's Deputy observed an abandoned trailer in the area of MN Highway 55 and County State Aid Highway 2, Watkins. Shortly after the deputy arrived, the owner arrived at the scene, repaired the trailer, and removed it from the roadway.

9:08 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to and dispatched Watkins Ambulance for a medical in the area of Meeker Avenue North and 2nd Street North, Watkins. One individual was treated at the scene.

10:49 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance, per the request of the MN State Patrol, for a personal injury accident that occurred on MN Highway 55, Kimball. One individual was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital.

11:05 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of unsafe conditions in the area of County State Aid Highway 2 and 340th Street, Watkins. The deputy checked the area and requested that the Meeker County Highway Department be contacted for roadway flooding that was occurring. Safety cones were then put out to notify motorists.

Thursday, Aug. 4

11:03 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical on Newspaper Run Northeast, Kimball. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.

12:04 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a request to check the welfare at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins. Upon arrival, deputies' found everything to be okay.

4:30 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins. Upon arrival of the deputy everything was found to be fine and he warned the individual of the complaint.

5:14 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an intoxicated individual at a residence on Glenshire Boulevard North, Watkins. Upon arrival of the deputy everything was found to be fine and the individual was left in the care of the homeowner.

6:20 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a property damage accident on MN Highway 15, Kimball. No injuries were reported.

7:51 p.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted the Eden Valley Police Department with a disturbance at a residence on Brooks Street South, Eden Valley.

Wednesday, Aug. 3

12:20 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to assist Eden Valley Police with a juvenile party at an address on Church Street South, Eden Valley. The deputy transported one juvenile male to the Law Enforcement Center, for a probation violation.

1:06 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance for a medical at a residence on Meeker Avenue South, Watkins. One individual was transported to St Cloud Hospital.

10:08 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a theft at a residence on Meeker Avenue North, Watkins.

6:04 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Eden Valley Rescue and Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a business on States Street North, Eden Valley. One individual was transported to the Paynesville Hospital.

Tuesday, Aug. 2

8:29 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to and dispatched Dassel Fire to a report of sparking electrical lines in the trees on Parker Avenue West, Dassel. The deputy arrived on scene and identified a tree branch on the electrical line. Xcel Energy was contacted to remove the branch.

9:53 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 hang up from a residence on County State Aid Highway 27, South Haven. The deputy checked the residence and all was fine.

12:21 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of juvenile trouble at a residence on Meeker Avenue East, Eden Valley.

1:39 p.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted an individual to secure a pick up load of branches on Meeker Avenue West and Smith Street South, Eden Valley.

2:45 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of burglary at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins.

4:35 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received information of a train blocking a business driveway on US Highway 12, Litchfield. The Sheriff's Office contacted BNSF to advise them to move the train.

Monday, Aug. 1

9:54 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched spotters out for severe thunderstorm warnings in Meeker County.

11:08 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received report of a driving complaint on north MN Highway 15, Dassel. The caller was transferred to the MN State Patrol.

12:44 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of a power line that appeared to be on fire on MN Highway 15 and County State Aid Highway 27, Kimball. The caller advised the pole is no longer on fire. Upon the deputy's arrival Xcel Energy was contacted.

1:00 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to and dispatched Dassel Fire to a report of a residence on fire on 217th Street, Darwin. Dassel Fire arrived on the scene and requested mutual aid from Litchfield Fire. The second story of the home was a total loss and a report was taken. A news release will soon follow.

On the 1st at 1:32 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Litchfield Fire to a report of trees on fire on 575th Avenue, Litchfield. The Litchfield Fire department called for Meeker Co-op responded to the scene as the wires were live and could not be sprayed with water.

On the 1st at 1:37 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of a semi blocking County State Aid Highway 16, Grove City. A deputy checked on the semi and the driver was waiting to get into the business.

On the 1st at 2:24 p.m. the Sheriff's Office placed a female yellow lab with a green collar into the Meeker County Pound. The Dog was located on MN Highway 15, North of Dassel.

3:41 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of criminal damage to property at an address on 657th Avenue, Watkins.

4:25 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of pigs at large at a residence on MN Highway 24, Watkins. Upon the deputy's arrival, the pigs were back in the pen.<
