Bobby Arens to pitch for U of M Crookston

Golden Eagle baseball signs Bobby Arens of Kimball to National Letter of Intent

The University of Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagle baseball program Monday, June 27, announced the signing of Bobby Arens of Kimball to a National Letter of Intent for the 2011-2012 season.

A 6'6" and 210 lbs. right-handed pitcher for Ridgewater Community College of Willmar, Arens finished the 2011 season with a record of 5-0. He threw 28.1 innings striking out 19 while accumulating a 1.91 earned run average. Arens joins Warrior teammates Jordan Flick and Jordan Prill as a member of the Golden Eagles.

"We are excited that Bobby has decided to attend the University of Minnesota, Crookston and be a part of our baseball program," says Golden Eagle Head Coach Chris Vito. "He comes from a solid program where he enjoyed success on the mound and in the classroom. Bobby's experience and leadership skills will be a valuable addition to our program."

Arens plans to major in business management at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. He is the son of Keith and Cindy Arens.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is an NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).

All signees are contingent upon admission to the University of Minnesota, Crookston and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
