Education is a top priority for The Toro Company, where a host of life-long learning opportunities for employees has been a company hallmark for years. This includes two scholarship programs offered to employee dependents through the Toro Giving Program and the Kendrick B. Melrose Family Foundation. In 2011, these programs awarded scholarships to 130 students in California, Minnesota, Nebraska, Texas, Wisconsin, Mexico and Australia, all totaling more than $212,000.
The goal of the Toro Scholarship Program and the Kendrick B. Melrose Family Foundation Scholarship Program is to recognize a diverse mix of deserving students. Together, these programs have contributed more than $3 million in tuition assistance to employee dependents, and it continues to grow each year. Both programs currently award individual gifts that range from $500 to $2,000. Toro is proud of its commitment to education for both employees and their families as another way of giving back to the community.
The Toro Giving Program is proud to announce the scholarship recipient is Ryan Dammann of Clearwater who will be attending St. Cloud State University.
