Preview for the 24th annual Star of the North Games in St. Cloud week two: June 23-26.
Week two of Star of the North Games in St.Cloud kicks off on Thursday, June 23, with BMX Cycling. BMX Cycling will be the only sport that starts on Thursday at Pineview Park BMX. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will consist of baseball, basketball, golf, pickleball, Olympic Day, softball, track & field and the 5K Road Race. Sports will take place at various locations across St. Cloud for the closing weekend of Star of the North. The Star of the North Games are Minnesota's annual Olympic-style amateur sports festival, with over 5,000 athletes from all over the state expected to compete in 17 different sports.

About Star of the North Games:
Each year, a different Minnesota community hosts the Games. Past host cities have included Burnsville, Rochester, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Twin Cities North Metro, Moorhead, and Brooklyn Park. The number of sports varies from year to year, typically 18 to 24.
The Star of the North Summer Games is annually held on the third and fourth weekends of June. This year, St. Cloud will host the Games for the sixth time on June 18-19 and June 24-26. When coaches, referees, family members and spectators are included, the Star of the North Games will bring 8,000 to 10,000 people to St. Cloud for the Games. The emphasis is on friendly, participatory competition. The largest team sports for week one include volleyball, with 137 teams expected; and lacrosse with 28 teams.
Sports will be held at dozens of athletic venues in St.Cloud and surrounding communities for both weekends. ÊThe sport venues for week two include: Waite Park for baseball, Pineview Park for BMX Cycling, Territory Golf Club for golf, Whitney Recreation Center for pickleball, Whitney Park for the 5k Road Race as well as softball, Halenbeck Hall Fitness Center at
St. Cloud State University for Olympic Day, Sauk Rapids Middle School for track & field and various local gyms for basketball.
