Richard "Fuzzy" Hinz, age 60, of Kimball died Monday, June 27, 2011, at Quiet Oaks Hospice House, St. Augusta after a two-year battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kimball with Rev. Aaron Bell officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services, Thursday, both at the church.
Richard William "Fuzzy" Hinz was born Aug. 27, 1950, in St. Cloud to the late Sidney and Maida (Handt) Hinz. He lived his lifetime in the Kimball area and was a 1968 graduate of Kimball High School. He married Sherry Jensen on Aug. 22, 1969, in Kimball and was a home building contractor. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, the Minnesota Home Builder's Association, and a retired 21-year member of the Kimball Fire and Rescue Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, casinos, and time spent with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Sherry of Kimball, children Tim (and Tammy) of South Haven, and Lori (and Troy) Hoefker of Wayzata; four grandchildren A.J. Hinz, Colby Hinz, Ryan Hoefker, and Jordan Munson; brothers Robert (and Barbara) of Mill Valley, Calif., Ralph of Kimball, Russ of Kimball, Patty (and Richard) Peterson of Kimball, and Cathy (and Dave) Hollermann of Carlos.
Memorials are preferred.
