Legion Auxiliary convention in Nisswa June 3-4

The 91st Annual Sixth District American Legion Auxiliary Convention was held in Nisswa, Minn. June 3-4. Members of Frederick A. Metcalf Unit 261 of Kimball attending were Sharon Skuza, Dori Hamilton, Renee Berscheid, Carol Santone-Royal, LuAnn Marschel, and Abby Zenzen. Presiding over the weekend activities was Judy Samuelson, sixth district president from Cold Spring. Special guests to the convention included candidate for national president, Kris Nelson, of Brainerd, and department president Darlene Wondra of Montgomery, Minn.

Serving as the president's page was Renee Berscheid, on the credentials committee was Dori Hamilton. Color bearers were Carol Santone-Royal and Dori Hamilton. LuAnn Marschel served as a member on the finance committee. Abby Zenzen served as the Girls State chairman and as a memory book judge.

The Kimball Unit proudly received awards for the work they did all year long in the following programs: Americanism, Children and Youth, Education, Junior Activities, Legislation, Memorial, National Security, and Poppy.
