Soccer team tournament win

The St. Cloud U17 Lazers soccer team took first place in the MapleBrook Invitational Soccer Tournament over the June 4-5 weekend. The Lazers used stellar defensive play and goalkeeping, only giving up one goal during the tournament. The offense came alive in the semis and finals scoring five times to take home the championship. The tournament was hosted by the MapleBrook Soccer Association in Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park and included teams from all over the state.

Team members include Lakeisha Lommel, Isabel Sim Campos, Cia Strong, Clare Culligan, Alyssa Frank, Kelsey Frank, Kiley Sullivan, Zoe Novak, Carly Novak, Erin Kurvers, Erin Peterson, Alyson Prom, Courtney Jones, Ivy Kuhn, Kelsey McFarling, Dani Torgerson, Hannah Erickson, Nikki Torgerson and Claire Arnold. Arnold, the Lazers' goalie, is a resident of Kimball and the daughter of John and Margaret Arnold.
