We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to the park last Sunday to help us celebrate Kate's ongoing recovery and her belated birthday! It was such a blessing to be able to enjoy a day of fun, fellowship and thanksgiving with all of you who have helped us through such a difficult time. Thank you so much for all that you have done to help us over the past four years, and thank you for taking time out of your holiday weekend to help give Kate the happiest birthday party she's ever had! Special thank you to Dale and Monica Douglas, Mike and Julie Libby, and Pat, Bev and Matt Messer for planning and throwing the party and providing and roasting the hog; to Tim Diffley for providing the music and karaoke; and to Jean Matua for the wonderful coverage in the paper of Kate's Beads of Courage. Beads of Courage is a great program funded by the Children's Cancer Research Fund, that helps to support children during long and intense treatments and hospital stays. And,
Thanks be to God for the miracle of Kate's health, and for holding off the rain for the party! Thank you, again, it was a fabulous, fabulous day!
Candy, Roger, Sammi, and Kate
Thank you to the Kimball school system, teachers, aids, students, retirees, and the community for the wonderful send-off.
Thank you for the many cards, gifts, the placemats that the students created, and the scrapbook.
You all made the start of my retirement a memorable one.
The Frederick A. Metcalf Post 261 American Legion Family would like to thank all those who took the time to participate in the Memorial Day Program. We hope you will share with your family, friends, and neighbors of the experience, so we might have more participants next year.
We would especially like to thank Father Tom Olson, for providing the invocation and benediction, the Auxiliary for presenting "The Empty Chair" and the "Flag Folding Ceremony" and the ladies who helped compile the list for "The Final Roll Call."
A very special thank you to Jerry Meyer. He has set up and taken down chairs for our program for so many years. Thank you and congratulations on your retirement! Thank you to the Tri-County News for the media coverage.
And finally, thank you to our veterans. We appreciate you, and thank you for your sacrifice to keep our great country free.
