Harlan Russell of Louisburg, Minn., formerly of Kimball and South Minneapolis, died unexpectedly from complications of leukemia Wednesday, May 4, 2011. He was 63.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel at 5125 W. Broadway in Crystal. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Harlan W. Russell was born April 10, 1948, to Warren Russell and Jean Lennander in Litchfield. He lived in Cokato until he was 11. He attended Roseville schools.
Harlan served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war from 1968 to 1970. He lived for a time following his service near Lake Betsy in the Kimball area. He had a great passion for flea markets, antiques, hunting and fishing.
Harlan was preceded in death by his father Warren Russell; and mother-in-law May Johnson.
He is survived by his mother Jean Lennander; sister Lori Hook; brothers Ron, and Brent (and Bernie); companion Yvonne Brandel: daughters Jennie (and Lonny) Murray, Jeanelle (and Chris) Byrne, and Julie (and Greg) Boggess; grandchildren Samantha, Alex, Andrew, Adam, Kyle, Joshua, Olivia, and long-awaited baby Nathan; and many nieces and nephews.
