Minnesota Center Chorale's 38th season closing concert: Voices of Heaven and Earth; featuring Messe Solennelle
Join Minnesota Center Chorale for the last concert of our 38th season Sunday, May 8, for a joyous musical event. This performance will take place at the beautiful sanctuary of St. Augustine Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Voices of Heaven and Earth will feature the music of Charles Gounod's "Saint Cecilia Mass" The concert begins at 3 p.m. Seating is general admission; plan to arrive early as seating will fill up fast.
Additionally, the first 25 guests will receive a special Mother's Day gift.
Voices of Heaven and Earth celebrates the gift of music through the ethereal St. Cecilia Mass with orchestra. Featured artists include Dr. Charles Echols (organist), and Dr. Marcie Givens-soprano, Jason Parker-tenor, and Duane Anderson-bass. Also featured are works expressing our appreciation and care for our Earth by Brandon, Brunner, Humphry, Spencer, Stroope, and Ticheli. A commissioned arrangement of the text "Psalm 150" by Caleb Wenzel, a local composer will also be performed.
Join Caleb Wenzel at 2:30 p.m. for a pre-concert Q&A session about the process of composing for a specific choir or ensemble.
