Meeker County 4-H Dairy Bowl teams compete at State Competition
The Meeker County 4-H Dairy Project Bowl teams finished a successful end to their season at the State Project Bowl Competition held in Foley on April 16. Meeker County had one senior and two junior dairy teams that competed in this event. All of the Meeker County teams finished within the top four teams.
The project bowl competition is designed to test the participants' knowledge in all facets of the dairy industry. The participants spend many hours studying periodicals and other resources getting ready for the contest. Members of the senior team include: Tyler Eblen of Belgrade, Jon Frenchick of Paynesville, Matt Frenchick of Paynesville, and Nicole Krumrie of Litchfield. This team placed third overall. They are coached by Jim Salfer.
Members of the junior teams include: Team One-Sawyer Eblen of Belgrade, James Gathje of Richmond, Timothy Lux of Eden Valley, Katherine Gathje of Richmond. Junior Team One placed first overall. Team Two-Gregory Gathje of Richmond, Gregory Lux of Eden Valley, Wyatt Renne of Grove City, and Daniel Williamson of Spicer. Junior Team Two placed fourth overall. The junior teams were coached by Alan Barka and Lucas Salfer.
