Week two of the season took the Cubs on the road for games at Osakis on Tuesday and Thursday at St. John's Prep. The result was a win and a loss to even the season record at 2-2. Osakis proved to be a formidable opponent as the defending sub section champion from last season. Kimball was the sub section runnerup last season, but Osakis returns with more players from last year. The Cubs took a 1-0 lead with Brooke Merten scoring on Megan Garding's RBI. The lead lasted until the bottom of the third, and would turn out to be Kimball's only run, as Osakis pitching limited the Cubs to four hits, while striking out 10 batters. The bottom of the third proved to be decisive as Osakis took advantage of four Cubs' errors to score three runs. They would add a single run in the fourth and fifth and two in the sixth to finish with a 7-1 victory. Brooke Merten, Megan Libbesmeier, Megan Garding, and Steph Konz accounted for the Cubs' hits.

Thursday was cold, blustery, and even a hint of snow was in the air at SJP. Tiffany Berscheid led off the game and scored the first run. A second run by Shannon Donnay came in the second inning. Again the third inning was decisive as the Cubs sent 15 batters to the plate and scored nine runs. SJP scored a single run in the third and then the Cubs tallied five more runs in the fourth. The big hit was a bases-loaded double by Megan Libbesmeier to drive in three runs. Melody Rose scored in the fifth to conclude a 17-2 Kimball victory. Every Kimball starter but one got on base and scored in the game. Tiffany Berscheid scored four times with Merten, Libbesmeier, Garding, Donnay, Rose, and Alyssa Hurrle scoring twice. Donnay and Libbesmeier each had two hits for two and four RBI each. Steph Konz had three RBI and Berscheid two. Libbesmeier picked up the win allowing two runs on five hits with six strikeouts.

This week opens the CMC season with Rockford at home Monday, and then Thursday the Cubs travel to Maple Lake to take on the defending CMC champions.
