Last Thursday night, March 31, the journey that Kimball speechers began in the cold month of February draws closer to the end, at least for this season. Kimball had 24 entries in the Subsection 5A South tournament at ACGC, and of those, 13 will move on to the Section 5A tournament at Sauk Centre Saturday, April 9.
The top six speakers in each category advance to sections, with seventh and eighth places standing as alternates. For Kimball, the following students will represent 5A South in their categories: Creative Expression, Tyler Dockery; Discussion, Janessa Dahle; Duo Interpretation, Camen Miles and Logan Bartholomew; Extemporaneous Reading, Alissa Jones; Extemporaneous Speaking, Katelyn Lichte and Dustin Opatz; Great Speeches, Jonathan Bisila; Humorous, Chelsey Maus; Informative Speaking, Megan Bisila; Original Oratory, McKenzie Libbesmeier and Regan Dockery; Serious Poetry, Sheila Konz, and Storytelling, Paige Ruehle. Kimball's alternates, who may be called up to speak if another student is unable to perform, include Kenzie Traurig in Serious Drama, Sam Cooper in Discussion, Shelby Schiefelbein in Original Oratory, and Kimberly Fennema in Storytelling.
Please join me in wishing "Good luck" to these outstanding Kimball Speechers as they continue on their journey to the state tournament.
