Local crime blotters

Information requested

At around 1 a.m. Friday, April 1, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office was involved in a vehicle pursuit on County Road 51 in Collegeville Township. The driver, and target of the pursuit, fled on foot into the St. John's University woods; there was a felony warrant for his arrest.

Two of his passengers were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Deputies tracked the driver through the woods toward Interstate 94 and back toward County Road 51. The search was called off at around 7 a.m.

Later investigation led to the driver's arrest at a house near Luxemburg. It was learned that he had either flagged down a passing motorist and got a ride, or was allowed to use a phone to call for a ride.

The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who may have been in the area between 7-9 a.m. Friday, and either gave a man a ride or allowed him to use their phone, to call the Sheriff's Office at (320) 251-4240.

Narcotics arrests

Friday, April 1, investigators of the Central Minnesota Drug and Gang Task Force executed a search warrant at the address of 1103 Second Street North in Waite Park. Upon execution, officers located and arrested Jennifer Stawarski, age 31, and Uriah Quinn Smith, age 33.

Imvestigators located a marijuana-growing operation, methamphetamine and $2,790 cash. A stolen loaded.45-caliber handgun was found on the person of Uriah Smith who is a convicted felon and currently out on parole.

Jennifer Stawarski was arrested and booked into the Stearns County Jail for fifth-degree possession of controlled substance. Uriah Smith was arrested and booked into Stearns County Jail for fifth-degree controlled substance and felon in possession of a handgun.

The Central Minnesota Drug and Gang Task Force was assisted by the Waite Park Police Department and the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.

Sunday, April 27

9:38 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Rescue and Ambulance for a medical on Central Avenue, Watkins. One individual was transported to Paynesville Hospital.

12:38 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a request to a check the welfare on 743rd Avenue, South Haven. The deputies spoke to the individual and determined everything to be okay at this time.

7:24 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Eden Valley Fire Department for a fire alarm at a residence on Coleman Avenue East, Eden Valley. The Eden Valley Fire Department assisted in ventilating an apartment from a burning pan on the stove.

Saturday, April 2

11:09 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a civil matter on 37th Street, Eden Valley. The deputy spoke to all parties involved and advised them of their options.

3:40 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance for a medical at a residence on Luella Street, Watkins. On individual was transported to St Cloud Hospital.

4:53 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance and Kimball Rescue for a medical at a residence on 367th Avenue, Kimball. One individual was transported to

St Cloud Hospital.

Friday, April 1

9:10 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of suspicious activity at a residence on MN Highway 15, Dassel.

1:31 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a theft from a residence on 350th Street, Watkins.

10:04 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a fire alarm at a residence on MN Highway 55, Watkins. Upon arrival of the deputy, the alarm company gave proper identification to cancel.

11:33 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on 574th Avenue, Eden Valley, where a deputy arrested Joshua Dean Veldkamp, age 19, of Osakis, MN, on a Todd County warrant.

Thursday, March 31

8:59 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to, per the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, a report of a possible fire at a residence on 697th Avenue, Kimball. The deputy was cancelled prior to arrival, as there was no fire at the residence.

Wednesday, March 30

10:52 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Litchfield Fire to a fire alarm at the Litchfield High School, North Gilman Avenue, Litchfield. No fire was found, the individuals were soldering.

2:00 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Eden Valley Rescue and Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on 385th Street, Eden Valley. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.

3:21 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of theft by check at a business on Central Avenue North, Watkins.

9:30 p.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted the Eden Valley Police with a domestic situation at a residence on Hutcheson Avenue East, Eden Valley.

Tuesday, March 29

8:23 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance and Eden Valley Rescue for a medical at an address on State Street North, Eden Valley. Upon arrival, Eden Valley Rescue determined no transport was needed and the ambulance was cancelled.

11:25 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of a civil issue at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park. A deputy responded and advised the party of their options.

Monday, March 28

9:55 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of a possible scam attempt at a residence on County State Aid Highway 3, Eden Valley.

4:15 p.m. the Sheriff's Office receive a report of a possible scam attempt at an address on MN Highway 24, Litchfield.

5:47 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a burglary alarm at an address on Cedar Avenue South, Watkins. Prior to the deputy's arrival the alarm was cancelled.

6:37 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of suspicious activity on Meeker Stearns Street near 647th Avenue, Watkins.

7:47 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of unsafe conditions at a business on 4th Street North, Watkins. Upon arrival of the deputy everything was found to be fine.

10:49 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an intoxicated person and threats of suicide on MN Highway 24 near 305th Street, Litchfield. Upon arrival of deputies' Brody Clayton Kramp, age 18, of Litchfield, was arrested for 4th degree assault on a peace officer, disorderly conduct and underage consumption.

Wright County Sheriff's Office

On March 28, Keith Richard Rossberg, 44, of Annandale was arrested in Annandale for felon in possession of a firearm.

On March 29, Shari Ann Van Tassel Larson, 43, of Watkins was arrested in Meeker County on a Wright County warrant for theft.

There were 13 Property Damage Accidents, 1 Personal Injury Accident, 2 Hit and Run Accidents and 1 Car Deer Accident.

There were 10 arrests for DWI, 1 Underage Consumption arrest, no School Bus Stop Arm Violations, and 127 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations issued this week.
