KES boys' basketball season ends

The Kimball Elementary boys' basketball team finished their season Saturday, March 5, by taking part in the Kimball Boys Basketball Tournament. The boys started out the day by defeating Becker-Blue by a score of 26-17. They then came up against a very good Holdingford team who defeated the young Cubs, 35-30. This was an exciting game that had the Cubs trailing at the half 17-9, then getting to within two points of a tie in the second half, but losing a very well-played game. That put the Cubs into the third-place game which they won against Becker-White by a score of 27-19.

The boys had a very successful 2010-2011 season as they played in a total of five tournaments and had three first-place finishes, one third place and one fourth place. They accumulated an overall record of 19 wins and 5 losses. I would like to thank my wife Barb for her help throughout the year with keeping stats and helping on the bench when my attention was directed to the games. I also want to thank the players and their parents for their dedication and allowing me the privilege to coach them this year. Team members were Aaron Serbus, AJ Hinz, Braden Hilary, Hayden Gagnon, Hunter Alrich, Michael Hoffmann, Parker Peglow, Trenton Hamilton and Weston Hine. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to next year.
