The month of March is always the busiest time of the year for the Kimball Area High School Band and this year is even busier than normal. We began our run with Large Group Contest Tuesday, March 1, at Dassel-Cokato H.S. The band performed as well or better than they have all year and came home with a top rating of State Superior for their performance of "Courtly Airs and Dances," a major upper-category work.
Still coming up this month, the band has their Winter Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, in the North Gym at KAHS which will feature the award-winning High School Band, the Jr. High Band, and this year's first performance of the Jazz Band.
Then, a group of students will compete at Solo and Ensemble Contest Monday, March 21, shooting for Superiors in all 15 events. Finally, the band will wrap up a busy March with a concert tour to New York City March 23Ð27, with a performance at New York's South Street Seaport.
After that, the band will take a deep breath and begin preparation for our May 16 Spring Concert. The band is proud to be a part of all the successes that Kimball Area H.S. has been able to celebrate this school year with, hopefully, many more successes to come.
We would like to thank all of the parents and community members who continue to support the hard work and dedication of our students here at KAHS.
