The Kimball Cubs traveled to Pierz to take on the Pioneers Friday night, Feb. 18. The Cubs came out of the gates slow and fell behind early. Pierz led 24-8 when the Cubs went on a run to get them back in the game. Kimball trailed at the half by a score of 34-28.
The Pioneers expanded the lead to start the second half. The deficit proved to be too much to overcome for the Cubs. Pierz won by a score of 77-60. The loss dropped the Cubs' record to 12-9 on the season and 5-6 in conference play.
Cameron Hunt led the Cubs in scoring with 15 points, Neil Helgeson added 14. Helgeson dished out nine assists and Aaron Laabs led the rebounding effort with six. Hunt also contributed five steals.
