The Kimball Cubs' basketball team hosted the Rockford Rockets last Thursday night, Feb. 24, in a Central Minnesota Conference match up. Kimball jumped out to an early lead behind good three-point shooting and aggressively attacked the basket against Rockford. Seven different Cubs' players scored in the first half of the game. The Cubs led by 13 at the break (37-24).
In the second half, the Cubs expanded the lead even further, up to 32 points at one point. Great shooting was the key as Kimball shot 57 percent (16/28) from the field in the second half. The Cubs went on to win by a score of 75-55.
Neil Helgeson and Cameron Hunt paced five Cubs in double figures, each scoring 15 points. Brett Ostby had 12 and Dillon Menson and Seke Snead had
10 points apiece. Helgeson dished out eight assists and had three steals. Ostby led in rebounding with seven. The Cubs are now 13-9 on the season with a 6-6 record in the conference.
