National FFA Week will be celebrated by Minnesota FFA members, alumni and supporters Feb. 19-26. The Minnesota FFA Foundation encourages you to recognize the week by contributing to programs that support the development of young leaders for agriculture.
"People care about the future of agriculture and want to support young people," said Val Aarsvold, executive director of the Minnesota FFA Foundation. "We have donors involved at all levels. Some choose to sponsor a new member's FFA jacket through the Blue Jacket-Bright Future program while others sponsor leadership conferences or awards at the state convention."
Donors represent all areas of our community including individuals, companies and organizations. Although the majority of donors have ties to agriculture, others contribute because of the leadership training that young people receive.
"We have millions of dollars in loans to area farmers and know the importance of agriculture to our community," said Tom Deming of First National Bank Plainview. "I know of no other youth organization in our area that is as influential long term to its members along with giving them the opportunity to learn leadership and team skills as FFA. We are proud to be a 40-plus year donor to the Minnesota FFA Foundation."
