Fish house theft, crime blotter



Fish house damage, theft

An ice fishing house owned by Fuzzy Hinz of Kimball was vandalized some time between Tuesday, Jan. 18, and Friday, Jan. 21. The house was located on School Section Lake (northeast of Kimball). Besides damage to the house and its contents, several items of fishing equipment were also stolen. A $500 reward is being offered for the name(s) of the offender(s); (320) 398-7131.

Monday, Jan. 24

2:50 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance for a medical on County State Aid Highway 2, Watkins. One individual was transported to St Cloud Hospital.

Sunday, Jan. 23

4:57 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic situation at a residence on Meeker Avenue, Watkins. The deputy arrived and after investigation, arrested Joseph Alban Meyer, age 43, of Watkins, for Domestic Assault.

Saturday, Jan. 22

5:13 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a noise complaint in the area of Church Street, Watkins. The deputy made contact with an individual who was warned.

9:41 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of unsafe conditions on MN Highway 15, Kimball. The information was transferred to the MN State Patrol.

8:26 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a deactivated cellular 9-1-1 hang up in the area of County State Aid Highway 36, Eden Valley. A deputy checked the area and found all to be okay.

Friday, Jan. 21

10:44 a.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a theft by check at a business on West MN Highway 55, Watkins.

11:36 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call from a residence on 340th Street, Watkins regarding a medical situation. A deputy responded and found all to be okay.

1:05 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of possible child maltreatment at a residence on 362nd Street, Watkins.

6:58 p.m. a Sheriff's Deputy came upon a stalled vehicle in the area of MN Highway 22 and 355th Street, Eden Valley. The deputy assisted with traffic control while a private tow removed the vehicle from the ditch.

8:47 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of suspicious activity in the area of Central Avenue North, Watkins. The deputy was canceled prior to arrival.

Thursday, Jan. 20

1:13 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to suspicious activity at a residence on 275th Street, Dassel. Trent Leland Kotila, age 25 of Cokato, was arrested for 1st Degree Felony DWI, driving after cancellation inimical to public safety and small amount of marijuana.

8:07 a.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Fire to a fire alarm at a business on Luella Street, Watkins. The fire department was canceled a short time later as it was a false alarm.

12:28 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on County Road 48, Kimball. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.

1:42 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a juvenile runaway from a residence on 340th Street, Watkins.

3:52 p.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of a driving complaint on MN Highway 15, Kimball.

5:10 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to and dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on 3rd Street South, Watkins. One individual was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital.

7:32 p.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted the public at a residence on Meeker Stearns Street, Eden Valley.

Wednesday, Jan. 19

10:43 a.m. a Sheriff's Deputy came across an abandoned vehicle on MN Highway 55, Watkins. The vehicle was a road hazard and was towed from the scene.

4:10 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of harassment at a residence on Central Avenue North, Watkins.

6:56 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to an assist at a residence on County State Aid Highway 34, Watkins. Upon the deputies arrival it was found that everything was taken care of and assistance was no longer needed.

9:13 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on Church Street, Watkins. One individual was transported to the St Cloud Hospital.

10:46 p.m. the Sheriff's Office assisted with traffic while a vehicle was removed from the ditch in the area of County State Aid Highway 24 and MN Highway 15, Dassel.

10:51 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance, Eden Valley Rescue and Eden Valley Police to a medical on Stearns Avenue East, Eden Valley. One individual was transported to the St Cloud Hospital.

Tuesday, Jan. 18

7:32 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of suspicious activity on Clear Lake, Watkins. A deputy made contact and informed the party that extra patrol would be in the area.

10:02 a.m. the Sheriff's Office received a report of a possible mentally ill person at an address on Douglas Drive, Eden Valley. A deputy transported one individual to Meeker Memorial Hospital.

11:03 the Sheriff's Office received a report of a burglary from a business on US Highway 12, Litchfield. Upon arrival of deputies, Craig Richard Andrews, age 30, of Atwater, was arrested on charges of burglary and an outstanding warrant from Kandiyohi County.

3:51 p.m. the Sheriff's Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance and Eden Valley Rescue for a medical on State Street North, Eden Valley. One individual was transported to St Cloud Hospital.

9:22 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of juvenile trouble at a residence on 362nd Street, Watkins. Upon arrival of the deputy the party was advised of their options.

Monday, Jan. 17

12:31 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to an alarm on MN Highway 55, Watkins. The deputy checked the property and found all to be okay.

6:12 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a car/dog accident on MN Highway 22, Eden Valley. Upon arrival of the deputy, the dog's owner was identified and notified of the accident.

6:56 p.m. the Sheriff's Office took a report of a burglary of a fish house on Clear Lake, Watkins.
