Lillian B. Cooley of Sartell, formerly of Kingston, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at Country Manor Care Center in Sartell. She was 94.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Monday, Jan. 31, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Kimball with Fr. Al Stangl officiating. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery following the funeral service.
Lillian Barbara Cooley was born Sept. 22, 1916, in Winona to Peter and Anna (Briza) Anderson. She married Arthur B. Cooley July 3, 1942, in Minneapolis. He died Jan. 6, 1996. For 43 years she lived in the Kingston area, and out of her home she operated Lillian's Beauty Shop from 1959 to 1982. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and Johnson-Kelly American Legion Post 483 Auxiliary of Kingston. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, gardening, sewing, quilt making, and crocheting.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Arthur; grandson Jimmy Parks; sisters Louise Beardsley and Betty May Anderson; and brothers Charles, Harry, Robert, Fred, John, Ralph, Ray, Phillip, and Alfred Anderson.
She is survived by her children Betty (and Dean) Ailie of Dassel, Barbara (and Jim) Parks of Schaumburg, Ill., David Cooley (and Catherine DeMars) of Shorewood, Greg (and Donna) Cooley of Sartell; brother Tom (and Helen) Anderson of Rochester, Wash.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Joseph and Peter Cooley, Dominic and Andrea Verhey, Diane Collins, Pamela Sarbo, Lisa Murphy, and Joe Anderson. The honorary pallbearers will be Megan Cooley, Rebekah Schubert, and Chris Laumb. Music for the service will be provided by Frosty Schiefelbein as organist, and the St. Anne's Choir. Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
