Stearns County's Department of Human Services is looking for parents who have children in a licensed home child care in Stearns County to be part of a new work group to foster communication between the County, child-care providers and families that use child care.
The pilot Licensed Family Child Care Input Work Group was formed to deal with issues that may arise on behalf of providers or families, such as questions with rules or regulations, legislative changes, training issues, or licensing home visits.
Anyone who lives in Stearns County and their child(ren) receive care in a licensed family child care located in Stearns County, and are interested in being a part of the Licensed Family Child Care Input Work Group, should go to the Stearns County website at www.co.stearns.mn.us, and complete the application form. Stearns County is searching for a parent from each Commissioner District.
It is anticipated that the Work Group would meet in the evenings beginning in March. Up to eight meetings will be held in calendar year 2011. Meetings would run from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
For questions, contact Mary M. Schmid, Administrative Services Division Director at (320) 656-6029.
Applications will be accepted through Friday, Feb. 4.
In addition to the five parents, the Input Work Group will also consist of nine providers and one member from Child Care Choices.
