Kimball Area School District hired seven new staff members for the 2010-2011 school year. The women who were hired were: Kathryn Winkelman (High School F.A.C.S), Hannah Wruck (ECFC School Rediness), Stacy Helgeson (Kindergarten), Karla Kaiser (Elementary EBD), Kim Thomes (Elementary Special Ed.) Tara Otteson (Elementary Special Ed.), and Marie Bauerly (High School Business).
Lisa Carlson was named Kimball's new postmaster. She took over duties July 31.
Kimball Legion donated $1,200 to the Kimball football program. The money was spent on equipment including a blocking sled. Triple R also donated $745 to the football team to buy equipment.
Millner Winery wins four awards in the Minnesota State Fair's "International Cold Climate Wine Competition."

Kids return to school Sept. 7. In the elementary, Kimball has 341 students, and the high school has 357 students. Kimball's total enrollment at the start of the year is 698.

KAHS celebrates Homecoming the week of Sept. 20-24. Tyler Loch and Shannon Donnay are crowned Homecoming King and Queen.
Kimball Class of 1950 celebrates their 60th class reunion Sept. 8 at Triple R Grill and Bar in Kimball.
Kimball Lions hold annual 5K run/walk Sept. 18.
Church of St. Anne's holds its parish festival Sept. 23. Activities include a polka mass, BINGO, farmers market, and silent auction.
Jeremy Hull, a convicted murderer, is linked to the bank robbery at the State Bank of Kimball
in St. Augusta Sept. 8, 2006. He already is serving a life sentence for the murder, and will not be tried for the bank robbery.
Students from St. Cloud State won an Emmy at the 2010 Upper Midwest Regional Emmy Awards for their documentary on the "Schiefelbein Farms" Sept. 26. Kimball alumna Whitney Thielman wrote and produced the film.
Mike and Danielle Brower led a group of volunteers to Swaziland, an African nation. While there they spent much of their time at Bheveni Carepoint. There they handed out clothes, school supplies, toys and shoes for the kids of the area.
