Effective immediately, the
St. Cloud VA Medical Center is renamed the St. Cloud VA Health Care System.
The Department of Veterans Affairs continues to improve health-care services to Veterans. One of the major changes made by the VA and other health-care organizations over the past decade has been the evolution from hospital-based systems to outpatient-focused systems. The name change reflects the overall integration and expansion of medical services in multiple locations throughout Central Minnesota.
In addition to the medical center in St. Cloud, the St. Cloud VA Health Care System (HCS) operates three Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Alexandria, Brainerd, and Montevideo, Minn. This health-care system proudly provides medical care to Veterans from all of Minnesota, northern Iowa, northwestern Wisconsin and eastern North and South Dakota, and served more than 37,000 Veterans in 2010.
