St. Cloud to host veterans appreciation picnic June 28



 Free tickets to River Bats game available to the first 250 veterans..

 

St. Cloud, MN--The St. Cloud VA Medical Center, along with the St. Cloud METRO VETS, the St. Cloud River Bats and the Veterans Plaza Task Force will host a free Veterans Appreciation Picnic and Resource Fair on Sunday June 28.  The picnic and resource fair will be held from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal Athletic Complex (MAC), near the entry to the River Bats' playing field.  The River Bats will play a game at 6:05 p.m. 

 

One free ticket is available for each of the first 250 veterans who request one.  Veterans may call either the VA Operations Enduring & Iraqi Freedom office at (320) 255-6453, or stop in to the office to receive a ticket.  They may also call or stop in to the St. Cloud River Bats office at the Municipal Athletic Complex or call the office at (320) 240-9798.  Additional tickets may be purchased from the River Bats in advance or on game day for $6.

 

"The picnic is free and open to all veterans and their guests. We welcome all veterans, and we extend a special welcome to our newest veterans of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom," Mike Mynczywor said.  Mynczywor is the VA's Operation Enduring & Iraqi Freedom Program Manager. 

 

The Resource Fair will provide enrollment opportunities for VA Health Care, family financial, educational and child care resource information, employment and vocational rehabilitation resources and information on VA benefits, compensation and health care options.
