Predatory offenders investigated in Meeker County



During the week of May 13, Meeker County Sheriff's Office investigated a predatory offender registrant who was not complying with registry requirements by notifying law enforcement of his residence. On further checking, it was found he was having contact with minor children, which is another violation. It was found that the suspect was living in both Stearns County and Meeker County. An arrest warrant was issued and Duncan T. Brainard, age 21, was then apprehended in Stearns County. The investigation had assistance from the Stearns County Community Corrections and the Eden Valley Police Department.

Wednesday, June 3, the Meeker County Sheriff's Office received information from the Hutchinson Police Department of another predatory offender, that his whereabouts were unknown, this being a violation of Predatory Offender Registry requirements, by not advising law enforecement of current residence location and employment information. Thursday, June 4, Meeker County Sheriff's Office received a "tip" of the offender's location. Johnathon Lee Courier, age 27, was apprehended by Meeker County Sheriff's Office investigators in Litchfield, and is currently awaiting his initial court appearance in McLeod County.

During the week of June 1, Meeker County Sheriff's Office received information of yet another predatory offender who had failed to register. During the investigation, the predatory offender's identity was confirmed and locating him was made priority. Friday, June 5, Eric Alan Flom, age 27, was then arrested after the investigation was completed, and is currently being held in the McLeod County Jail pending his initial court appearance. Hutchinson Police Department investigators aided the Meeker County investigators with this case.
