Tuesday, May 12, the Kimball Police Department received information in an attempt to locate Kimball resident Jeremy Cromwell Phyle, age 27, for whom a warrant was out from Wright County for fifth-degree controlled substance. Kimball police checked Phyle's residence at 801 Hazel Ave. E. in Kimball, then requested assistance from Stearns County Sheriff's Office. While checking Phyle's home, officers were informed that Phyle was seen going through the Kimball Elementary School on his way to a friend's home at 57 Magnus Johnson St. Officers checked that home, located Phyle hiding in the basement, and took him into custody on the Wright County warrant. Phyle was then turned over to the Wright County Sheriff's Office.
Monday, May 18, at approximately 3 p.m., Central Minnesota Drug and Gang Task Force investigators, along with the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant at the address of 57 Magnus Johnson Street in Kimball. Investigators found and confiscated about 12 grams of suspected methamphetamine, three types of prescription scheduled drugs, $1,188 in U.S. currency, and 12 firearms, one of which was reported to be stolen in Anoka County. Other evidence was also found which was related to controlled substances. Katherine Trinka Olson, age 40, who was found at 57 Magnus Johnson Street, was arrested for first-degree sales, second-degree possession of controlled substances, and possible weapons charges and was taken to Stearns County Jail. The Kimball Police Department and Cold Spring Police Department K-9 assisted with the search warrant.
